On Scene Services (OSS) assists the New Orleans Police Department by responding to most non-fatal traffic accidents throughout the city, including vehicle crashes, hit-and-runs, and stranded motorists on interstates. OSS Agents document the scene, collect driver information, facilitate the civil exchange of documents, and prepare the crash report for NOPD review and approval.
OSS does not issue citations, or handle fatal accidents, suspected DUI incidents, or collisions involving NOPD units. Once submitted, all reports are finalized and officially approved by NOPD Records. OSS may also provide photos and Body-Worn Camera footage for purchase when available.
OSS is not the final report authority

Thank you for reaching out to On Scene Services! We do not currently write reports in the city of Baltimore. The OSS Agent documents the basic details, helps facilitate the exchange of driver/insurance information, and clears the scene. The BPD system will produce an Item number, and there is no official crash report to purchase. The exchanged information at the scene serves as the documentation for insurance purposes If the Baltimore Police Department did not respond, then no report was written by any agency. However, we offer a photo package that includes all photos taken by our Agent at the scene. This may include images of vehicles, driver documents, and the scene itself.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
After responding to a crash, OSS Agents gather each driver’s license, insurance, registration, and statements needed for a civil exchange of information. Agents take scene photos (when appropriate), record BWC video (if available), and complete the accident documentation for NOPD review. OSS then submits the report to the NOPD Records Division, who performs the final review and approval before the report becomes available for public purchase through the NOPD online system. OSS does not issue tickets — our role is strictly documentation and assisting drivers.

This disposition is used when OSS responds to a minor, non-injury traffic incident where both drivers are present, information is exchanged, and no official crash report is required by law. In an NAT call, the OSS Agent documents the basic details, helps facilitate the exchange of driver/insurance information, and clears the scene — but no formal police report is generated.
